Your First Visit at Dynamic Chiropractic: What Happens and What the $49 SoftWave New Patient Special Includes
October 12, 2026

The short version: Your first SoftWave visit at Dynamic Chiropractic is $49 and includes four things: a consultation with Dr. Kim Raby, an examination, any diagnostics she needs, and your first SoftWave treatment. You leave knowing what's going on, whether SoftWave is a reasonable fit, and what a plan would cost — with nothing else to buy that day. Here's the visit in order, what to bring, and how to book.
Before you come in
Book online through the scheduler on our booking page or call the office. Once you're booked, you'll receive intake forms to complete ahead of time; doing them at home rather than in the waiting room means your appointment time is spent with Dr. Raby, not a clipboard. Details on the forms are on our new patient forms page.
Two things worth doing before the visit: write down when the problem started and what makes it better or worse, and gather any imaging or reports you already have. Both shorten the path to an answer.
What to bring
- A photo ID
- Any X-ray, MRI or ultrasound reports, or the images themselves on disc or a portal login
- A list of medications and supplements
- Notes from any surgeon, physical therapist or other provider you've seen for this problem
- The shoes you wear most, if the problem is a knee, heel or foot
- Comfortable clothing that lets Dr. Raby reach the area — a tank top for a shoulder, shorts for a knee
Step 1 — Consultation
Dr. Raby sits down with you and asks about the problem: where, since when, what you've tried, what you want to be able to do again. This is also where she asks about your overall health, because some conditions and medications affect which treatments are appropriate. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health describes a chiropractic visit as following the same pattern as a conventional medical appointment — history, examination, a working diagnosis, then a plan — and that's exactly the order here.
Step 2 — Examination
A hands-on exam of the area that hurts and the structures around it: range of motion, strength, where exactly it's tender, how the joints above and below are moving. For a shoulder that means the neck and upper back get looked at too; for a knee, the hip and the way you walk. The exam is what separates a tendon problem from a joint problem from something that needs a referral, and it's the reason we don't quote a treatment plan before you're examined.
Step 3 — Diagnostics, if needed
If Dr. Raby needs imaging to understand what's going on, it's part of the $49 visit. If you've brought recent imaging, she'll review it with you rather than repeat it. If something in the exam suggests a problem outside chiropractic or SoftWave scope — a fracture, a full-thickness tear that needs a surgeon's opinion, a nerve issue that needs a physician — she'll tell you, and refer you.
Step 4 — Your first SoftWave treatment
If SoftWave is a reasonable fit for your problem, your first treatment happens the same day, included in the $49. Ultrasound gel goes on, the applicator is moved over the area, and you feel a firm, rhythmic tapping that's strongest over the irritated tissue. The intensity is adjustable and set to what you can comfortably tolerate; there's no anesthesia and no downtime. Our overview of what SoftWave is covers the device, what the FDA cleared it for, and what a session feels like in more detail.
Step 5 — The plan, in writing
Before you leave, Dr. Raby lays out what she found, whether SoftWave alone or SoftWave plus chiropractic care makes sense, how many sessions she'd recommend to start, and what that costs — per session or as a package — in writing. You don't decide anything at the desk that day unless you want to. SoftWave is self-pay and prices are subject to change; the $49 visit is designed so you can find out whether it's right for you without a larger commitment up front.
If you're here for chiropractic care, not SoftWave
The $49 special is our SoftWave first-visit offer. If you're coming in for chiropractic care — back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica — there is a separate chiropractic new-patient offer; ask the front desk when you book, and they'll tell you what it includes. The consultation and examination steps above are the same either way.
A word on who's treating you
Dr. Kim Raby, DC, is the treating doctor for every new patient. Florida licenses chiropractic physicians through the Department of Health, and you can verify any Florida health care license on the state's search portal — we'd encourage you to do that for any provider, not just us. You can read more about Dr. Raby on her bio page. For a plain-language description of what chiropractors do, MedlinePlus is a good neutral starting point.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to book a first visit?
No. Dynamic Chiropractic is a direct-access practice — you can book online or by phone without a referral from a physician. If something in your exam needs another provider's input, Dr. Raby will make that referral herself.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
A photo ID, any imaging or reports you already have, a list of your medications and supplements, and notes from other providers you've seen for the same problem. Wear clothing that gives easy access to the area being examined, and bring the shoes you wear most if the problem is in a knee, heel or foot.
Does insurance cover the $49 visit or SoftWave treatment?
SoftWave therapy is a self-pay service and is not billed to insurance. The $49 new patient visit is a flat price. For chiropractic care, the practice is in-network with Medicare only; other plans are out-of-network, and the front desk can explain what that means for you before you book. Prices are subject to change.
